Fall Kick Off Picnic

The annual kick off picnic, hosted by Professor Smith at his house, was attended by students, professors, friends, and family. Students and professors were catching up with each other by telling stories of their summer. The freshmen and transfer students were getting acquainted with the other students in the GAA.

Conati was firing up the grill, making hamburgers, veggie burgers, and burning the hot dogs. There were fun and games that were enjoyed by all, such as the Tiki DJ booth blasting dance music, ladder ball, football tossing, and boat rides.

In the midst of the fun, everybody went around and introduced themselves, and told everyone one thing they did over the summer. As Tom Walker pointed out during after the introductions, it was a step forward that we had GET members invited to this event because it shows that we can work together and network with each other.

Overall, the turnout was really good. I was expecting 45 people, but we did have a fair number of people eat, socialize, and have fun. This was a great way to start off a semester that will be full of exciting opportunities and events.
