The GAA would like to welcome back it’s members for the 2010–2011 school year. Our first general meeting will be held on Tuesday Sept 7th at 11 AM. We will be meeting in SWAN 218 as usual, and there will be free pizza! We would also like to extend an invitation to all the new and old students who would like to become members. Feel free to come to the meeting to see what we’re about, and to get any questions answered.
We will also be hosting a welcome back picnic on Thursday Sept 9th from 5:30 — 8:00 PM. The picnic will be at Prof. Smith’s house, and directions will be made available online and in SWAN 220 beginning next week. There will be free food and drink, as well as music, games, and weather permitting boat rides/swimming in the lake. If you need a ride please sign up on the sheet posted in SWAN 220 on the GAA office door.
Any questions or concern contact Logan Cashin (e-mail or 989–600-5317)
Welcome to my little corner of the website! I plan on using this column to share my knowledge with you in an effort to enrich your experience here at Ferris. I want everyone to be able to go on to successful careers in printing, and my goal here is to expand your abilities to make you a more desirable person when you enter the job market.

At the request of our President I have created a new category for the explicit purpose of reviewing/recapping events. While only the latest post will be displayed I encourage you to check out the category page every week or so to see what’s been going on at our events. Continue reading…
I know that many GAA members opt to use e-mail applications rather than accessing the Gmail interface through the web browser. The major downside to using an application is the lack of auto-fill for addresses within the GAA’s domain. To help alleviate this irritation I have compiled a list of all the e-mails in our domain that can be easily loaded onto your computer. Continue reading…
As the year comes to a close you’re probably busy studying. While the GAA is not necessarily advocating neglecting your studies we are going to host one final LAN party. We’re going to be playing some CoD4 to help unwind in this last week before exams. Come join us in SWAN 220 on Wed. the 28th at 7:00 pm
Come join the GAA for bowling night at The Gate on Wednesday from 9-11pm. Questions or comments should go to Kameron James
I’ve been working on providing a Facebook updating method that is a little faster than what I came up with on Monday. Right now I’m trying out a nice FB App called “RSS Graffiti” that will take the RSS feed from the website and post it as shared links on our Facebook page. All of the posts that get made from now on should have a link to them both on the Facebook fan page, and on our Twitter stream. If you experience a problem with this please let me know ASAP so that I can try and correct the problem. This feature should be carrying over to the new design that is coming soon, so any kinks should be worked out before then.
Once again, sorry for any excessive alerts/updates/tweets you may have received today.
If you haven’t already noticed, there are a couple changes going on with the site, and the GAA in general. I’ve added a new tab on the top navigation bar that will have all of the minutes from our various meetings. The side bar has two new links as well. One if for the digital version of our GAA handbook for new members, and the other is a link to our weekly agenda for our general meetings.
We have lots of other great things planned to make the web site better, and to get more information out in the open for the public and our members. Brandon is working on changing the theme of the website around to be more like a site and less like a blog, and hopes to have it done by the end of the semester. And I will be working on assembling several documents on how to utilize all of our services to make it easier to stay in touch, and up to date, with the GAA
We’ve got two great parties coming up this week, so make sure you keep your schedules open for them. (details at bottom)
First up we’ve got a Profile Picture Party at Brandon’s. We will have the basement studio set up to take some high quality shots for your Facebook profile pictures. We will also be able to take some serious photos for the digital composite, your portfolio web site, passport, or whatever else you may need a photo for. Be sure to dress appropriately for your photo’s use, and bring props if you want to get goofy!
After that we’ve got a LAN Party being held at Swan. It’s time to dust off the XBoxes and TV’s once more! Come prepared for some console gaming action, and possible some computer gaming as well. If you’ve got equipment you can bring it is always appreciated. Bring snacks and drinks if you want em.
