Nomination Day
The E-Board nomination ceremony will be this coming Tuesday, October 25th during the general meeting at 11AM in SWAN 218. You MUST be at the meeting in order to cast your nomination ballot. You can only nominate someone, or yourself if you choose, if you are a paying member.
Each paying member will be able to nominate one person for each position (President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Commissioner at Large). There will also be a section for the C-Board. This is purely for information purposes for the Vice President when choosing the C-Board chairpersons.
Only current freshman, sophomores, and juniors will be able to hold position for the upcoming Spring/Fall 2011 term. If you are interested in running for a position, talk to current members. Seniors will be allowed to serve as a C-Board chairperson only.

With the job fair just over a week away, it is time that the GAA gathers together to discuss and critique each others resumes, and talk about the companies that will be waiting to talk to us. The job fair is an excellent opportunity for students to network with the industry leaders, whether you’re looking for a job or not. We expect that all members attend the job fair, so in preparation we ask that everyone attends at least one resume workshop that we will be holding in Swan 218 over the next two weeks. The first will be this Thursday, October 21 @ 6:30 p.m., and the second will be Tuesday, October 26 @ 6:30 p.m. If you plan on attending the Job fair, it is mandatory that you attend at least one of these workshops. If you have a resume, please bring it to share with others, and if you do not yet have a resume, bring an open mind and a notebook. Sharing and presenting any resources or ideas that you may have during the workshop is strongly encouraged.
As usual, we got screwed on the bed sheet banner just like everything else. Ferris never ceases to amaze me, they reward tackiness and horrible design. We should have known better, rather than make a bed sheet that looks good we should have tie-dyed it. Lame. Continue reading…
This is a reminder that the Graphic Arts Association will be playing kickball tomorrow, October 5. We will be meeting in SWAN 220 at 6:15PM for pre-game preparations, then walking down to Top Taggert Field to sign in at 6:30PM. The event starts at 7:00PM.
Bring your game faces to the field!
The bed sheet banner is coming along nicely, remember it has to be finished by Monday. We will be working on it Thursday at 6. If anyone wants to volunteer to work over the weekend, let me know. We need all hands on deck!
The cutout has been printed on the Vutek. All we need to do now is work on the plywood. We have to paint it with a sealant, mount it, and cut out the holes. We are meeting tomorrow night in the light table room at 6:30PM to work on it. See you there.
We’d like to remind everyone that your membership payments are due by Tuesday Sep 21st. The cost of membership is $25 per semester, or $40 for the school year. You can pay by giving cash or check (payable to Graphic Arts Association) to Nanette at any time before the deadline, or by Paypal via the payment button below.
Once your payment has been confirmed we will set up your GAA e-mail account and you will have access to all the services we offer. In addition to the e-mail account, your dues go towards services and events that the GAA manages. This includes: Continue reading…
