]]> The GAA would like to welcome back it’s members for the 2010–2011 school year. Our first general meeting will be held on Tuesday Sept 7th at 11 AM. We will be meeting in SWAN 218 as usual, and there will be free pizza! We would also like to extend an invitation to all the new and old students who would like to become members. Feel free to come to the meeting to see what we’re about, and to get any questions answered.

We will also be hosting a welcome back picnic on Thursday Sept 9th from 5:30 — 8:00 PM. The picnic will be at Prof. Smith’s house, and directions will be made available online and in SWAN 220 beginning next week. There will be free food and drink, as well as music, games, and weather permitting boat rides/swimming in the lake. If you need a ride please sign up on the sheet posted in SWAN 220 on the GAA office door.

]]> If you haven’t already noticed, there are a couple changes going on with the site, and the GAA in general. I’ve added a new tab on the top navigation bar that will have all of the minutes from our various meetings. The side bar has two new links as well. One if for the digital version of our GAA handbook for new members, and the other is a link to our weekly agenda for our general meetings.

We have lots of other great things planned to make the web site better, and to get more information out in the open for the public and our members. Brandon is working on changing the theme of the website around to be more like a site and less like a blog, and hopes to have it done by the end of the semester. And I will be working on assembling several documents on how to utilize all of our services to make it easier to stay in touch, and up to date, with the GAA

In case you haven’t heard, there is a Job Fair coming up this Thursday at Wink Arena from 11AM — 3PM.  There are going to be two companies that are geared toward printing, QuadGraphics and Consolidated.  Talk to other companies to see if the offer positions in printing related departments.

Dress for success and bring your student ID with you to gain entrance.
